Having quickly come through the ranks on the management development programme at the National Westminster Bank, Twigg’s career has been spent building digital banks, starting with the world’s first internet only bank Egg, then shaping Citigroup and Fidelity’s digital strategy and now growing UBank. Headhunted by the National Australia Bank from the US based consultancy Keane to launch UBank in 2008, he helped shape NAB’s digital strategy before returning to lead UBank in 2010. Credited as the banker who has taken UBank from start-up to the globally recognised leader in digital banking, Twigg has lead the UBank team to deliver exponential growth and business success whilst developing and piloting the NAB’s new Oracle core banking platform.In parallel to his banking career, Alex founded and built successful digital consultancy, Twiggtowers Ltd, advising on strategy and technology to blue chip financial services companies in the UK.
